Davis was born on Tuesday, March 13 at 1:10 pm. He weighed 8lbs 6oz (at 37w6d)and was 21in long. The nurse said that had he made it to 40 weeks, we could've had us a 9lb 6oz'er on our hands. He did his mama right by coming early! ;) I have lots I want to share (down to the fact that his daddy came down with the flu a few days before he was born and none of us had gotten the flu shot this season!), but for now, I'll post the slideshow from his birthday.
Right before it was "go time" in the delivery room (which happened all of the sudden and really fast), my mama had the idea for our good friend, Sara, who was in line to grab some lunch with my dad on the other side of the hospital, to take pictures right after the birth. So, Brett called her with a quickness, she walked really fast and made it in time. We were so thankful she was there, because she captured so, so many firsts from that day (and it took the pressure off of mama to take pics for us :). Every single picture is my favorite. Love, love the smile on Brett's face as he's making a phone call, love, love the candid pics of me getting sugar from Davis after he was handed back to me all wrapped up, love, love the pics of Briley and Avery meeting him for the first time. It was, truly, an amazing day. All four of us are completely and madly in love with this 2 week, 1 day old little squirt.
Did you get that, sweet boy? We're in love with you and we're so very grateful God chose our family for you to be a part of ... You are one of the sweetest unexpected blessings we've been given.
