36 week check-up ...

As I was about to start typing, I stopped and took a look at a post Brett typed up on Friday, February 2, 2007 ... Two days before Briley was born. Click here if you'd like to take a quick peek.

I had a bit of deja-vu this morning during my doctor's visit. I'm 36 weeks and 1 day today, a little over 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I was advised to take it as easy as possible this week and told that, of course, I could go another 3 weeks with these measurements. We're hoping for at least another week though. Again, it's in God's hands, she's in God's hands and that's comforting enough. We shall see, soon enough, how long she's going to decide to hang in there!

Nap time!

The children at our church preschool each get their own room and mat during nap time. Briley's teacher has found her sound asleep in the playhouse twice over the past week. All she needs is her blankie and her loyal watch-dog, Lucky, and she's happy to sleep anywhere!

It's been a while ...

Four weeks after my last post, my mid-wife informed me that my due date never changed. The doctor who passed along the info was wrong. So, it remains October 25. Pretty comforting at this point of the pregnancy ... just means I'm that much closer to holding my new baby girl and feeling a little more comfortable than I'm feeling right now! Still feels weird, a bit scary and very exciting that Brett and I will soon be the parents of not one, but two children. How happy I will be to have two daughters though. I keep thinking of the joy we felt when Briley was born and I'm looking forward to the same, but different feeling. Through life I've heard parents mention how they never thought they could love the 2nd, 3rd, 4th child as much as the first, but they always do. I know we have more than enough love to go around. The proof is in how much our Lord loves us ... so many children ... so many names, yet he knows the number of hairs on our head. Our 2nd baby girl is already loved so much, I can only day dream of how our cup will over flow once we meet her.
The sweet face picture above was taken on September 4. I was 32 weeks and 5 days. I'm now 35 weeks and 3 days. It's getting closer! :o)
